Tony's Chocolonely Inc. recalls some chocolate bars sold in the United States, Canada

A chocolate manufacturer has issued a voluntary recall of certain chocolate bars sold in the United States and Canada because it could contain “small stones”.
Tony's Chocolonely Inc., based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and has offices in places like New York, announced the recall on Monday, saying that the chocolate bars were distributed to retailers in Canada and the United States
According to the announcement, seven lots of the brand of sea salt Dark Almond de Tony (6.35 OZ) and the whole bar (6.35 OZ) were recalled “because the product can contain small stones”.
The candy bars were sold in retail stores in the United States and on the company's website, www.tonyschocolonely. The opinion said that the distribution of the bars recalled began on February 7 and ended on March 24.

“Although the chances that any individual product is affected is low, we decided to take this step to ensure the safety and satisfaction of Tony's consumers in Chocolone,” said the company.
The company added that a limited number of consumers said they had found small stones in the product, which were not filtered during almond harvest and almond transformation.
The products recalled are identified with the following lot code, the date of the best and the UPC:

In Canada, Dark Almand Sea Sel, 180g products, with many 162697, and the whole bar, 180g, with many 4332, were also recalled.

Lot codes are unique identifiers assigned to a lot or a quantity of products manufactured under the same conditions and used for monitoring and traceability, said the company.
For the bars in question, the lot code is printed on the side of the packaging of the candy bar and generally starts with the letter “L” for everyday items, and “M” for personalized items.
No other lot codes was included in the voluntary recall, and Tony's Chocolonely said that the action had been taken to ensure the safety of its consumers, as a precaution.

Consumers who have one of the candy bars in question are encouraged to return the item to the store to which it was bought for a refund or a replacement or simply to have the product.
