Gallerist Sarah Gormley recently published a thesis entitled “The Order of Things”, which understands a recipe that she claims to have developed the day after the dismissal by Martha Stewart. My honest review of Martha-Stewart-Fired-Me cookies
One of the first things I noticed about this recipe is that it is heavy enough for a cookie recipe. Gormley recommends leaving the dough cooling for 24 to 48 hours before cooking to allow flavors to blend together.
Of course, sometimes you don't have the patience to wait two days once the desire for cookies is hit! Fortunately, you don't have to cool these cookies if you want to eat them immediately. The drawback is that your cookies could be a little less tasty.
According to a commentator on the Instagram post of Gormley, who followed the recipe for a T -shirt – including a 48 -hour cooling time – it was “a huge restraint exercise!” But “they are, without a doubt, the best cookies with chocolate chips I have ever had! Thank you very much for that.” So if you want to take advantage of this recipe in its fullness, I suggest you let it relax.

Regarding the textures of cookies, I really appreciated the way this recipe turned out. Sometimes it seems that all the cookie recipes for chocolate chips are almost the same, but I noticed a difference with it. It is fluffy and soft with each bite.
Two aspects of this recipe marked me as unique. The first is that this recipe provides three different types of sugar: granulated sugar, light brown sugar and dark brown sugar. As a student who usually has brown sugar and white sugar at the same time, I would normally go for a recipe that requires two types of sugar, max. This time, fortunately I had all the ingredients for the recipe for my pantry, so I didn't need to do additional grocery shopping.
Another interesting aspect of this recipe is that Gormley calls salted butter and dizzying sea salt to finish the cookies. This created a very complete flavor profile that perfectly completed sweetness.

Overall, I ended up with a solid classic chocolate chocolate cookie on my hands. The texture of cookies is certainly the best part, but I have the impression that there are recipes with a richer flavor. This recipe was nevertheless delicious, and it makes a lot of dough, so it is an excellent recipe to whip together and keep some for future snacking. In fact, I frozen half of the cookie dough and I now have 16 cookies ready to be cooked on a rainy day.
If I were Martha Stewart, I would please Gormley with pleasure just to enjoy some of these delicious cookies. But if Gormley had not been dismissed in the first place, we would not have this recipe, so I must say that I am quite grateful, this is where we have finished.
