Homemade curry powder recipe (not too spicy)
I never thought I had a curry powder. I'm not sure where my negative opinion came from, but I accidentally added it to the soup and found that I definitely love it. The unique and complex taste makes curry powder an incredible addition to meals.
Now I add this curry powder recipe to breakfast dishes, such as ordinary vegetable crawl. I also use it with meat, soups and roasted vegetables. I've tried adding it to traditional curry foods, even though these are definitely not my strengths (anyone wants to come to teach me?).
What is curry powder?
The term “curry” is not exactly a clear concept in food. We use it for any amount of spicy, stylish dishes and combine it with Asian or Indian cuisine. Funny, most curry powders do not use curry leaves at all, but are a blend of different earthy and smoky spices.
The concept of Curry came from the occupation of the UK in India, and the British meant food their Indian curry. So today's curry powders are a really European interpretation of Indian cooking. Over the years, they have developed some, but they have different combinations of fragrant spices.
You can find spice mixes with Fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, peppers, minced ginger, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, cayenne pepper, black pepper, chili powder, cumin seeds, bay leaf, garlic powder and rabbit. Curry spice mixtures can use whole spices when roasted and then grind the spice shelf. Other recipes (including this) use spices for a faster version.
Due to the health benefits of spices, Curry can be a great way to work in the entire range of spices.
How to make mild curry powder seasoning (or taste)
Why do curry powder when you can buy it? One word: heat! Most pre -made curry spices I have tried to pack a lot of heat and spice. This can be difficult especially for young children.
Your DIY spice mix gives you to tailor the heat to your family to the right level. You can also adjust the recipe and leave out all the spices you don't like.
How to use curry powder
There are many traditional Indian recipes and customizations that work well with curry powder. It also works well as a spice for sweet potatoes, roasted coffee creams and chicken.
If you don't think you like curry, it may be that you didn't have the right mix of your taste. Try making your own curry powder. Start by adding small amounts to simple recipes such as meat, roasted vegetables or soups and work from there.
