Simple Caprese salad recipe
[ad_1]
Introducing one of my favorite salad recipes. This tomato, basil and mozzarella Caprese salad is an easy summer for our favorite whole family to love. We often do it during the summer when the tomatoes are during the season. This classic Italian dish is light, tasty and delicious!
Classic caprese salad
This appetizer (or a side dish) couldn't really be easier. It only requires slicing, arranging and herb. In Italy, under the name Insalata Caprese, no one is quite sure where it comes from, even though it is believed to start on Capri Island. Others have stated that it is a patriotic reminder with the Italian flag. However, it happened, this herb tomato salad is so good!
It is quick to assemble, but still looks impressive, which makes it a perfect week night dinner or for the next BBQ.
I think the simplest recipes are sometimes the most delicious. Especially when they use seasonal products. Few things taste better than a really fresh peach, tomato or salad immediately after picking.
Caprese components
Because the ingredients are simple, there is not much to hide about Caprese. Water, rubber tomatoes do not taste very good here. I like to use home -brewed tomatoes or inheritance products from the farmers' market to achieve the best Caprese salad. Some newly ground black pepper and flakes sea salts or kosher salts really help to bring out tomato flavors. Any good quality salt works.
I like the salad plain, but you can also add a balsamic reduction (aka balsamic vinegar) or vinaigrette. Make it a meal and add grilled chicken to the side!
Try a fun variation of individual Caprese salad stems. Rotate the tomatoes or cherry tomatoes on the skewers with basil leaves and mozzarella balls.
